Park City

For our anniversary Preston took us to Park City for a weekend get away. We had such a fun time on Main Street walking around looking at all the cute shops and art galleries.

You can't see very well but this moose behind us has a better fashion sense than I do! She was dressed all cutesy. She had on Rockin Repblic jeans and this adorable cardigan. Even her toes were freshly manicured.

These two pics were taken at Ruth's Chris! This was the best dinner I've probably ever eaten! If you've never been, you NEED to go.
We went for a little swim in the pool at our hotel. This was Ethan's first pool experience and I think he had a good time.

Best Two Years!

Today was our 2nd anniversary. So much has happened over the past two years. It really has been the best two years of my life and I know it's just going to get better and better! Here are a few pics of the past two years.

Ethan's Baby Blessing

Ethan was blessed today in church. Preston gave him the most beautiful blessing imaginable. I am so lucky to have such an amazing man for my husband and father of our children. My family came in town, except Elisa and Andrew, who missed their flights the day before:( It was so fun to be together and to show them how much Ethan has grown. Here are a few pictures of the day.

We are starting to see more and more of Ethan's personality! He is such a sweet and happy little boy. He's very patient with us as new parents while we try and figure things out. I've also realized that he's the teacher and I am the student. He teaches me so much and I am happy to keep learning from my little angel. Here are some cute pictures of Ethan! Cheesecake Factory

Last Friday we went to Cheesecake Factory to welcome Annie and Kimmie to the States! They quoted us a 90 minute wait time, so we decided to kill some time at the mall. Preston and I went to Brookstone, which is one of my all time favorite stores. They have so many cool gizmos and gadgets. I love trying out all the massagers. They have hand held massagers, full body chair massagers, and my personal favorite, the leg and foot massager! One day I would love to own one of those guys! Check out this awesome ab workout machine that is suppose to simulate riding a bull!

Ethan loves his bath time so much! He has this cute whale tub that I put him in and he just sits there smiling and kicking his legs around. He's definitely our little water baby!

Ashby Biggest Loser Competition

My mom came up to spend some time with her favorite grandchild, ok her only grandchild. It was so fun having her here especially because Preston and I got to have some alone time. We also took advantage of all the fresh powder and went snowboarding.

Baby it's cold outside

We have gotten so much snow this year! Part of me will always hate the cold, but I have to admit it was fun to have a White Christmas and it does make for some fun times snowboarding.

This is right outside our house. I think we got atleast 4 inches!

Don't worry we only stayed outside longing to a get a picture and then we took Ethan back inside

This was our first Christmas with just us as a little family. We were a tiny bit sad that we didn't go to Arizona or Uruguay to be with our families but with Ethan being so little we decided it would be best to just stay in snowy Utah. Nonetheless, we had such a blast just the three of us. Here are some pictures of the day.

Our very first real Christmas tree! The best part about the tree was the Christmas aroma it left in our home. If you can't tell by the picture this tree is as dried up as prune. The down side of the tree was the fun time we had cleaning up after it!

Ethan Preston Ashby was just so anxious to enter the world that he came a few weeks early! We like to think he really wanted to meet Grampa and Skinny while they were visiting from Uruguay. Or maybe he got lonely up there with out his best buddy Carver.

He weighed just 5 lbs 1oz.

He is so cute and such a sweet little boy. We are overwhelmed with love for him.

The labor interesting... Not at all what I had imagined, much better happily. I think it was better only because I didn't know I was in labor. Here's what happened. We had dinner with my father and mother-in-law who were in town for the birth of Carver, my sister-in-laws first baby. After dinner Sunday night I was having some cramps. I just thought it was the food or something because they were low and really didn't hurt that bad. After everyone went home, the cramps starting getting a little more painful, but I didn't think they were contractions especially becasue I was still 3 1/2 weeks away from my due date. This continued until around 11:00 pm when Pres called the doctor just to see what he would say. Just like I thought, the doctor said it was probably nothing but if we were worried to start timing them. I didn't want to time them because I thought that would make me focus on the cramps and how often they were coming. So Preston secretly timed them while I took a shower, dried my hair, walked around, and pretty much I did anything not to focus on them. At 12:30, we called Ben, my brother-in-law to come down and with Pres give me a blessing. At 1:30 we finally decided to go to the hospital just to see what was going on. I really fought Pres on this one because I didn't want to show up at the hospital and have the nurses tell me I was dilated to a 2 and send me home. Well, we got to the hospital at 2am and settled in a room and after about 15 min a nurse finally came to check me. She started panicking and told us I was dilated 9cm. She said, "Don't push, don't push! We have to wait till the doctor gets here!" After that nurses started rushing in, flipping on all the lights, and hooking me up to all this stuff. At that point I was getting really nervous because that was the first time I really believed I was in labor. The nursing were really panicky and that scared me even more. That's when it started to really hurt. The nurses let me kow that since I was already so far along I wouldn't be able to have any medication for the pain. Twenty minutes later or so, the doctor walked in, and said, " Ok, you can start pushing now." I pushed once and his head was out and again and his body was out. The doctor barely put his hands out in time to catch him. He was born at 2:46am and weighed 5lbs 1oz. He was a strong boy from the very beginning. He didn't need oxygen or anything. The only thing was that since he was so tiny he had a hard time keeping his body temperature up so they put him under heat lamps for a little during the first night. So that's the story. Sorry, I guess I could have condensed it a bit. :)

My family came to attend my graduation and we had a blast! We got pedicures, went shopping, watched the Olympics, went to a Shakespear play up at Sundance, and had a lot of fun. My favorite part was Preston trying to get pictures of every second of the graduation ceremony.
